From the President
Many thanks to Jay and Sheila Larson
for hosting the January meeting. It
was great to see so many neighbors:
whether it was because of the guest
speaker topics, the attraction of Jay’s
chili, simply wanting to get out of the
house and socialize with neighbors, or
all of the above, the meeting was one
of our best-attended in months.
The February monthly meeting will
be on Thursday, February 28, at 52
Welles Avenue, hosted by Lex Stevens
and David Stitt. In response to the concerns
of a number of neighbors regarding
recent power outages around Ashmont
Hill, Joe Walsh from NStar’s
community relations group has agreed
to speak at the meeting. Also on the
agenda will be the regular C-11 monthly
report and other information of
interest to the neighborhood.
About a dozen hardy souls (including
two Ashmont Hill neighbors) did a
mid-winter cleanup of Peabody Square
on a recent Sunday morning, with support
from the Public Works Department
and coffee from Dunkin Donuts. As the
snow has melted, the trash has emerged
throughout our neighborhood. Why not
take a few minutes to sweep along your
curb the next nice day?
